Planes Collide at Malta International Airport

A Ryanair plane clipped the wing of a Turkish Airlines aircraft at Malta International Airport, Malta, on January 17th.

The incident happened when the Turkish Airlines plane was departing for Istanbul, Turkey, while the Ryanair flight from Bari, Italy, was taxiing to an apron.

No injuries were reported.

Turkish Airlines Plane Makes Priority Landing in Istanbul

Turkish airlinesTurkish Airlines flight TK2659 made a priority landing at Istanbul Atatürk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey, on November 14.

The Boeing 737-800 was flying from Sivas, Turkey, when an asthma patient passenger fell ill mid-air. The pilot then contacted the air traffic control, saying “Our asthma patient passenger has low blood pressure. We have doctor in the cabin. Doctor is frequently checking the blood pressure. If it possible we would like to land on as soon as possible sir.”

The plane landed uneventfully. It is believed that the patient’s condition had become better during landing.

Turkish Airlines Jet Makes Emergency Landing due to Bomb Threat

Turkish airlinesA Turkish Airlines Jet made an emergency landing at Istanbul Atatürk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey, on August 13th.

Emergency was declared after authorities received a phone call that claimed there was a bomb in the plane. The flight was flying from Oslo, Norway to Istanbul, Turkey at the time.

The plane landed safely and everyone aboard remained unharmed.

Authorities confirmed that no explosive device was found on inspection.

Turkish Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Poland

Turkish airlinesTurkish Airlines flight TK-79 had to make an emergency landing at Warsaw Chopin Airport, Warsaw, Poland, at around 3:50 P.M. on July 30.

The Boeing 777-300, heading from Istanbul Atatürk Airport, Turkey, to San Francisco, California, had to be landed in emergency due to an unclaimed mobile phone found in the cabin.

The plane landed safely and all 332 people aboard remained unhurt.

The journey continued after security clearance.

Laptop Prompts Turkish Plane to Land in Emergency

Turkish airlinesA Turkish Airlines passenger jet, en route from Brussels to Istanbul, made an emergency landing at the Sofia Airport, Bulgaria, at about 19:00 EEST on August 9.

The decision was made after the authorities suspected that a laptop with an unknown owner could contain an explosive device.

The plane landed safely and all the passengers were off loaded and led to a safe location. The suspected laptop was seized for examination however, no threat was established.

The flight resumed after a short time.

Turkish Airlines Bird Strike

A Turkish Airlines Istanbul-Athens Boeing 737-800 made an emergency landing on July 5 after a bid strike.

After takeoff from Ataturk International Airport at 7:40, the plane hit a flock of birds.

The pilot returned to the airport and made a safe landing with damaged engine baffles.

Passengers disembarked and were provided an alternative flight.
