Norwegian Air Flight Diverts to Minnesota due to Unruly Passenger

Norwegian Air flight DY-7080 made an emergency landing at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, Minnesota, on December 5th.

The plane heading from Oakland, California, to Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, was diverted due to an unruly passenger.

The plane landed safely.

The flight continued after the police escorted the disruptive passenger off the plane. He was taken to a local hospital.

Hawaiian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Oakland

Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-37 made an emergency landing in Oakland, California, on October 22nd.

The Airbus A321-200N plane heading from San Diego, California, to Kahului, Hawaii, was diverted after the crew received indication of an engine issue.

The plane landed safely. All one hundred and seventy-eight passengers and seven crew members remained unharmed.

Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-23 made an emergency landing in Kahului, Hawaii, on August 31st.

The Boeing 767-300 plane was flying from Oakland, California, when the several passengers complained of breathing problems due to an unusual odor on board.

The plane continued for a safe landing.

Twelve passengers and three crew members were checked by medical teams at the airport.

It is believed that the odor was caused by a pepper spray.

REACH Aircraft Crashes in California; 4 Killed

REACH AirA REACH Air Medical Services aircraft crashed in Humboldt County, North Coast, California, on July 29th.

The Piper PA31 flying from Crescent City Airport, to Oakland International Airport, California, was mid-air when the crew declared emergency due to smoke in its cockpit, and later it lost connection with radar.

The plane debris was found the next morning.

All 4 people onboard including 3 crew members and one patient were killed.

Southwest Airlines Plane Returns to California due to Engine Problem

The Boeing 737-300 had taken off for Austin, Texas, when the crew decided to return after reporting an engine problem.

The plane landed safely. All people onboard remained unharmed.

The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

Southwest Airlines Jet Returns to Oakland International Airport

According to the airline, “After takeoff, the captain in command made the decision to return to Oakland to check a maintenance item on the aircraft.” It is believed that the plane, that was heading to Chicago at the time, experienced a landing gear issue.

The plane circled over Oakland to burn off excess fuel before landing safely. All 139 passengers aboard remained unharmed.

The plane was taken out of service.

Alaska Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Bird Strike

AlaskaAlaska Airlines flight 349 had to return and make an emergency landing at Oakland International Airport, California, on November 14.

According to the airline authorities, the Seattle-bound flight took off at 6:47 p.m. but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

The plane landed uneventfully and none of the 150 passengers was harmed. The aircraft was grounded for repair.

A replacement plane was arranged for the passengers.
