Iberia Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Boston

Iberia flight IB-6252 made an emergency landing in Boston, Massachusetts, on September 11th.

The Airbus A350-900 plane heading from John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, to Madrid, Spain, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Iberia Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Ecuador

Iberia flight IB-6453 made an emergency landing in Quito, Ecuador, on August 11th.

The Airbus A340-600 plane flying from Madrid, Spain, touched down in Quito but the crew aborted landing and went around due to a blown tire.

The plane subsequently landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Iberia Express Flight Rejects Take Off From Lanzarote, CI

Iberia Express flight I2-3857 had to reject take off from Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain, on January 16th.

The Airbus A320-200 plane was accelerating to take off for Madrid, Spain, when the crew decided to reject take off to check some aircraft systems.

The plane safely returned to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

Iberia Express Plane Returns to Berlin

IberiaIberia Express flight IB-3673 had to return and make an emergency landing in Berlin, Germany, on November 9th.

The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Madrid, Spain, but had to return shortly afterwards after a ground observer reported seeing a jet of flame emitting from the left hand engine.

The crew subsequently declared an emergency and turned back toward Berlin.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Iberia Airline Plane Diverts to Spain due to Engine Shut Down

IberiaIberia Airline flight IB-6025 had to return and make an emergency landing at Madrid Barajas International Airport, Madrid, Spain, on December 16.

The Airbus A340-300, flying from Madrid, Spain, to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, had to return due to an engine problem. The crew decided to shut down an engine mid-air.

The plane landed safely.

All passengers aboard remained safe.

Why: Before takeoff, the air conditioning was “repaired.” After takeoff, cabin temperatures rose. The air conditioning system continued failing, and the pilot returned to the airport half an hour later.

A replacement jet was provided.
