Delta Flight 886 Diverts to JFK Airport; Rolls off the Taxiway

The plane was en route from Atlanta to LaGuardia Airport. However, as the fault was detected, it was diverted to the JFK airport.

The airline told that the decision of diversion was made because the JFK airport has longer runways than the LaGuardia Airport.

The McDonald Douglas MD8 aircraft made a safe landing at about 9pm on Wednesday, April 2. But the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey told that while taxiing to the terminal, it skidded off the taxi way, on to the grassy area.
There were 118 passengers and 5 crew members on board. None of them was injured.

Eastern Airways Saab 2000 Makes Emergency Landing in Norwich

The Eastern Airways Saab 2000, flying from Norwich to Aberdeen made an emergency landing at the Norwich International Airport, just twenty minutes after taking off.

The plane, with three crew members and forty eight passengers, took off at 6.45am but at 7:05 am, it requested a full emergency landing as a hydraulic fault was discovered.

Full emergency response protocol was followed at the airport and ambulances, fire fighters and police were ready at the spot when the plane safely landed at 7:24am.

A replacement plane was arranged to take the passengers to their destination, while the Saab was sent for thorough inspection.

Emergency Diversion in Brazil

An Avianca Brazil Airbus A318-100 en route from Porto Alegre to Sao Paulo had taken off from Porto Alegre’s runway 11 when the plane developed problems with the hydraulics system.

Tupolev Emergency Landing in Russia

On Feb 17, 2013 at 9:30, a Vladivostok Avia Tupolev 204-300 with 104 (97 passengers and 7 crew) aboard were en route from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Airport to Vladivostok when they made an emergency landing at Vladivostok. The plane’s hydraulic system failed.

No injuries were reported.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry did not provide details.
