Air Berlin Plane Overruns Runway at Sylt Airport

Air Berlin flight AB-6880 overran the end of the runway after landing at Sylt Airport in Sylt, Germany, on September 30th.

The incident happened when the Airbus A320-200 plane was coming from Dusseldorf, Germany.

The plane came to stop on soft ground. There were eighty-two passengers and five crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

SpiceJet Plane Overruns Runway at Mumbai Airport

SpiceJet flight SG-703 overran the end of the runway at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, in Mumbai, India, on September 19th.

The incident happened when the Boeing 737-800 plane, flying from Varanasi, India, was attempting to land during heavy rain.

The plane came to stop on soft ground. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

Royal Jordanian Airlines Plane Overruns Runway in Aqaba, Jordan

Royal Jordanian Airlines flight RJ-6888 overran the end of the runway during landing at King Hussein International Airport, Aqaba, Jordan, on September 17th.

The incident happened when the Boeing 737-300 plane was coming from Amman, Jordan.

All one hundred and twenty-six people aboard remained unharmed.

The plane sustained minor damage.

Nesma Airlines Plane Overruns Runway in Abha, Saudi Arabia

Nesma Airlines flight NE-154 overran the end of runway in Abha, Saudi Arabia, on April 28th.

The incident happened after the Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Cairo, Egypt, landed during thunderstorms.

The plane was towed to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

The incident is being investigated.

Saratov Airlines Plane Overruns Runway in Russia

A Saratov Airlines plane overran the end of runway while landing in Ufa, Russia, on February 20th.

The incident happened when flight 6W-9548 flying from Novy Urengoy, Russia, was attempting to land during a snowstorm.

All 50 passengers and 7 crew members remained unharmed.

ASL Airlines Hungary Plane Overruns Runway in Italy

ASLASL Airlines Hungary flight QY-7332 overran the runway upon landing at Orio al Serio International Airport, Orio al Serio, Bergamo, Italy, on August 5th.

The Boeing 737-400 flying from France had landed on Orio al Serio’s runway in bad weather conditions and overran the end of the runway.

The aircraft received substantial damage.

The 2 people aboard remained unharmed.

The incident remains under investigation.

Starbow BAe Over-Runs Runway in Ghana; Plane Damaged

Starbow
Starbow Airlines flight S9-110 overran the end of runway 23 of Tamale Airport in Savelugu, Ghana, on October 6.

The British Aerospace BAe 146-300, flying from Accra, Ghana, crashed into a barrier and stopped with its nose gear collapsed on a walkway.

The aircraft sustained significant damage.

No injuries were reported.

Rain Hampers Landing of Brazil Flight


On December 14, 2013, an Azul Linhas Aereas Embraer with 98 aboard was en route from São Paulo to Uberlândia-Eduardo Gomes Airport when it made a landing on wet pavement and suffered a runway excursion skidding on to soft grass. There were no injuries reported.

According to Sergeant Ramos, emergency services assisted.

The accident closed the airport pending removal of the plane. There was no damage to the Embraer 195, which operated the flight AD 6913, and Azul’s reports stressed that there were no injury to any of the 93 passengers and five crew members.

Subsequently on the 14th, after heavy rain was recorded, the Civil Defense of Uberlândia asked the population to avoid going through critical points referred to in the city due to possible flooding.
