    JetBlue Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Washington Dulles International Airport

    JetBlue flight B6-1808 had to return and make an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, on May 17th.

    The Embraer ERJ-190 plane took off for John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 66 people aboard remained safe.

    The emergency services found a fuel leak while checking the plane.

    Small Plane Crashed in Barrow County, GA; Two Killed

    A small plane crashed at Barrow County Airport in Winder, Georgia, on February 16th.

    Barrow County Emergency Services Captain Scott Dakin said the airport employees spotted the wreckage while coming back after the lunch break. “When they came down the road they did see the plane in the wood line just along the road here… They called it in, upon our arrival we did have a small fire that was handled by our guys,” he said.

    Two people were killed in the crash. They were identified as Shannon Ewing, and his nephew, Henry Ewing.

    The accident is being investigated.

    Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Munich

    Lufthansa flight LH-521 made an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on December 19th.

    The Airbus A340-600 plane flying from Mexico City, Mexico, was descending toward Munich when the crew received a deflated tire indication.

    The emergency services were on standby as the plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    REACH Aircraft Crashes in California; 4 Killed

    REACH AirA REACH Air Medical Services aircraft crashed in Humboldt County, North Coast, California, on July 29th.

    The Piper PA31 flying from Crescent City Airport, to Oakland International Airport, California, was mid-air when the crew declared emergency due to smoke in its cockpit, and later it lost connection with radar.

    The plane debris was found the next morning.

    All 4 people onboard including 3 crew members and one patient were killed.

    Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing at Aberdeen International Airport

    An offshore helicopter made an emergency landing at Aberdeen International Airport in Scotland, United Kingdom, on May 16.

    The helicopter, belonging to Babcock Mission Critical Services Offshore Ltd., declared emergency while flying over North Sea.

    According to a Babcock Mission Critical Services Offshore spokesperson, “We can confirm that an s-92 helicopter requested priority landing at Aberdeen airport after crew reported a cockpit warning light illumination…The aircraft made an uneventful landing just after 2pm and the 18 passengers on board were given a de-brief by the crew…The aircraft is currently being examined by engineers and will be subject to a detailed series of checks and tests before it’s returned to service.”
