U.S. Military Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Tokyo

A U.S. military helicopter made an emergency landing at Chofu Airport in Tokyo, Japan, on February 29th.

Authorities said the pilot of the Bell UH-1 Iroquois aircraft, belonging to the 459th Airlift Squadron at Yokota Air Base, declared emergency due to an engine warning light. The helicopter was on a routine local flight at the time.

The aircraft landed safely. All nine people aboard remained unhurt.

United Express Flight Makes Emergency Landing at McAllen Miller International Airport

United ExpressUnited Express flight 4020 operated by Mesa Airlines made an emergency landing at McAllen Miller International Airport in Hidalgo County, Texas, on January 28.

The airline said that the ATC declared a ‘precautionary emergency’ after a brake light indicator came on.

The Embraer 175 plane landed uneventfully. There were 41 people aboard the plane; all of them remained unhurt.

The maintenance personnel inspected the plane and cleared it to continue the flight to Houston.

Helicopter Carrying Pennsylvania National Guardsmen Makes Emergency Landing

An Army National Guard helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing in a field near Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, on January 22.

The Blackhawk helicopter was returning to Fort Indiantown Gap after a training flight when an engine chip warning light came on, forcing the pilots to land in emergency.

There were 2 pilots and 1 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

Small Plane Crash-Lands in South Australia; No Injuries Reported

A light plane crash-landed at Parafield Airport in South Australia, on January 2.

It is believed that the plane landed on its belly due to a problem with its front wheel.

The pilot, who was the only one aboard, remained uninjured.

The plane was damaged.

Allegiant Air Flight Diverts to Jacksonville International Airport

AllegiantAllegiant Air Flight 606 made an emergency landing at Jacksonville International Airport, Florida, on December 24.

The plane, en-route from Orlando, Florida, to Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, Ohio, was diverted after an indicator light in the cockpit went off.

The plane landed uneventfully. All 141 passengers and 6 crew members remained safe.

The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

Air Asia Plane Damaged Runway Light during Landing in Malaysia

Air AsiaAir Asia flight AK-6460 damaged a runway light upon landing at Sibu Airport, Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia, on December 17.

The Airbus A320-200 was flying from Kuching, Malaysia, to Sibu, when its right tyre got burst upon landing and it hit a runway light.

The plane did not receive any further damage.

All 144 people onboard remained unhurt.

Miami-Bound Insel Air Jet Diverts to Dominican Republic

Insel AirAn Insel Air plane made an emergency landing at Las Américas International Airport in Dominican Republic, on September 2.

The MD-82 aircraft, heading from Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao to Miami, Florida, was diverted after a warning light indicated an engine malfunction.

The plane landed safely. All 55 passengers remained unharmed.

The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
