Caribbean Airlines flight BW-434 had to make an emergency landing at Hewanorra International Airport, Saint Lucia, on July 9th.

The plane heading from Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, to George F. L. Charles Airport, Saint Lucia, was diverted after the crew received an engine fire indication.

The plane landed safely. There were sixty-eight people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

Dana Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Lagos

Dana Air flight 9J-343 had to return and make an emergency landing in Lagos, Nigeria, on April 21st.

The plane took off for Port Harcourt, Nigeria, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

The plane was flying from Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago, when the crew declared an emergency due to a fire indication for left engine.

The plane was flying from Tobago when the crew declared an emergency due to an engine fire indication.

Skydiving Tour Plane Crashes in Hawaii; 5 Killed

A small plane crashed near Port Allen Airport on the island of Kauai in Hawaii, on May 23rd.

The single engine Cessna 182H plane, belonging to Skydive Kauai, was conducting a skydive tour when it went down.

Five people, including the pilot, two skydive instructors, and two tandem jumpers, were killed in the crash. Their identities are not known at the moment.

The NTSB and the FAA will investigate.

Caribbean Airlines Plane makes Safe Landing at Piarco Airport after Engine Fire Indication

Caribbean AirlinesCaribbean Airlines flight BW-1511 made a safe landing at Piarco International Airport, Trinidad and Tobago, on May 14th.

The Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, flying from Tobago, was about to reach the Port of Spain when the crew noticed a fire indication for its right side engine. The crew had to shut down the engine and activate the fire suppression system.

The plane landed safely.

No one was injured.

Air Peace Plane Returns and Makes Emergency Landing in Nigeria

air peaceAir Peace flight 4P-7191 had to return and make an emergency landing at Port Harcourt International Airport, Port Harcourt, Rivers, Nigeria, on March 12.

The Boeing 737-500, heading from Port Harcourt to Lagos, Nigeria, had just climbed out of the runway when the crew received a smoke detector indication, prompting the crew to return.

The plane landed uneventfully.

It turned out that the smoke indication alarm was false.

All passengers on board remained unhurt.

Safair Plane Returns for a Safe Landing in Cape Town

SafairSafair flight FA-136 had to return and make an emergency landing at Cape Town International Airport, South Africa, on March 6.

The Boeing 737-400, heading from Cape Town, to Port Elizabeth, was mid air when it had to return due to some issue with its air conditioning system.

The plane landed safely.

All passengers and crew member aboard remained unhurt.

Loganair Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Sumburgh Airport

LoganairLoganair flight BE6780 had to make an emergency landing at Sumburgh airport in Scotland, United Kingdom, on December 23.

According to the airline, “Flight BE6780 carrying 46 passengers and three crew declared a mayday shortly before landing in Sumburgh last night… The captain received a fire caution indication from the port-side engine, which was shut down as is standard operating procedure… Passengers were briefed by the crew ahead of landing and the aircraft touched down safely.”

All the passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

The Saab 2000 was flying from Aberdeen at the time.
