Iran Aseman Airlines Plane Crashes in Iran; 66 Killed

Iran Aseman Airlines flight EP-3704 crashed in Semirom, Iran, on February 18th.

The incident happened when the plane was heading from Tehran to Yasuj, Iran.

The plane was carrying sixty passengers and six crew members at the time; all of them were killed in the crash.

Iran Aseman Airlines Flight Returns to Tehran due to Landing Gear Problem

Iran Aseman Airlines flight EP-3710 had to return and make an emergency landing at Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran, Iran, on January 2nd.

The Boeing 737-400 plane took off for Ardabil, Iran, but had to turn back after the crew noticed an issue with the landing gear.

The plane landed safely. All one hundred and twenty-seven people aboard remained unharmed.

Iran Aseman Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Mehrabad International Airport

Iran Aseman Airlines flight EP-850 had to return and make an emergency landing at Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran, Iran, on April 4th.

The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Zahedan, Iran, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

Why: While landing during a storm, the plane overran the runway and ended up nose cone down in a ditch, well past the pavement. (An alternative source said the plane lost control after having a flat on landing.) Passengers described landing, then skidding after landing. The runway was slippery with rain. The plane was evacuated on site, and passengers taken to the gate. Two passengers had minor injuries.
