Etihad Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Zurich

Etihad Airways flight EY-73 made an emergency landing in Zurich, Switzerland, on June 18th.

The Boeing 787-900 plane flying from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, was on approach to Zurich when the crew reported an issue with the flaps and aborted the approach.

The plane subsequently landed at higher than normal speed. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Air Wisconsin Plane Diverts to State College due to Issues with Rudder

Air Wisconsin flight ZW-4245/ AA-4245 had to divert and make an emergency landing at the University Park Airport of State College, Pennsylvania, on May 3rd.

The Canadair CRJ-200 flying on behalf of American Airlines was en-route from Philadelphia to Milwaukee, Wisconsin when it had to divert due to strange motions at high speed and some issue with the rudder.

The plane landed safely.

All 22 people aboard remained safe.

United Airlines flight UA-1270 had to make an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, Illinois, on April 14th.

The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Jacksonville, Florida, was on final approach to Chicago when the crew went around reporting an issue with the flaps.

The crew worked the checklists and subsequently landed at higher than normal speed.

All passengers and crew members remained safe.

SunExpress Airlines flight EW-1216 had to make an emergency landing in Stockholm, Sweden, on January 9th.

The Boeing 737-800 plane flying from Dusseldorf, Germany, was on approach to Stockholm when the crew reported a flaps issue and aborted approach.

The plane subsequently made a second approach and landed safely at a higher than normal speed. All 168 people aboard remained unharmed.

The Boeing 737-700 was accelerating to takeoff for Merida, Mexico, when the crew saw another aircraft on the runway, prompting the plane to stop.

The aircraft braked heavily. All people onboard remained unharmed.

The incident remians under investigation.

UPS Plane Rejects Takeoff in South Korea

UPSUnited Parcel Service flight 5X-61 had to reject takeoff at Incheon International Airport, Incheon, South Korea, on June 6th.

The McDonnell Douglas-11 was accelerating to takeoff for Anchorage, Alaska, when the crew had to abort taking-off at a high speed.

The plane received substantial damage after it overran the runway and had its nose gear collapsed.

Small Plane Crash-Lands in Stafford County; Pilot Injured

A small plane crash-landed near Interstate 95 in Stafford County, Virginia, on June 6th.

The state police said in a statement, “A single-seat, experimental aircraft was conducting a high-speed taxi on the runway of the Stafford Regional Airport, when the aircraft unintentionally lifted off the runway…The aircraft cleared the Centreport Parkway before crash-landing into an embankment alongside the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 at the 137 mile marker.”

The pilot Roberta A. Boucher, 62, was seriously injured in the incident. She taken to Mary Washington Hospital.

The incident is being investigated.
