All Nippon Airways Plane Rejects Takeoff in Japan after Engine Failure

ANAAll Nippon Airways flight NH-959 rejecting taking-off at Narita International Airport, Narita, Japan, on August 14th.

The Boeing 787-800 was accelerating the takeoff for Shanghai, China, when its left side engine failed with a loud bang.

The plane returned to the apron.

All 240 passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

China Eastern Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

china easternChina Eastern Airlines flight MU-771 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on July 22nd.

The plane was flying from Shanghai Pudong International Airport, China, when the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

The plane safely landed in Amsterdam. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

17 Injured after Air China Plane Hits Turbulence

Air ChinaAir China flight CA-936 was hit by severe turbulence while descending toward Shanghai Pudong International Airport in China, on June 20th.

The Airbus A330-200 was flying from Frankfurt, Germany, when it en-countered severe turbulence that injured 17 people on-board.

The plane landed safely. Medical assistance was provided to the injured.

China Eastern Plane makes Safe Landing in Wenzhou after Visual Difficulties

china easternChina Eastern flight MU-5577 made a safe emergency landing at Wenzhou Longwan International Airport, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China, on March 20th.

The Airbus A320-200, flying from Shanghai to Wenzhou, China, was about to land when the crew faced some visual difficulties disabling them to see the runway.

The plane received substantial damage to its landing gear and flaps after impacting treetops outside the airport perimeter.

All people onboard remained unharmed.

The incident remains under investigation.

China Eastern Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing after Lightning Strike

China Eastern Airlines flight MU-5414 had to return and make an emergency landing in Chengdu, Sichuan province of China, on February 21st.

The Airbus A321-200 took off for Shanghai Pudong International Airport, China, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported a lightning strike.

The plane landed safely. No injuries were reported.

The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

The Airbus A321-200, flying from Shenyang, to Shanghai, China, had to divert due to engine failure. One of its engines had to be shut down mid-air.

The plane landed uneventfully.

No injuries were reported.

Air Canada Flight Diverts to Calgary due to Heavy Turbulence; 21 Passengers Hospitalised

Air CanadaAir Canada flight AC88 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Calgary International Airport in Canada, on December 30.

The plane, heading from Shanghai, China, to Toronto, Canada, was diverted after it encountered severe turbulence that injured some of the passengers.

The plane was carrying 332 passengers and 19 crew members at the time; 21 of them were taken to hospitals. According to the airline, eight of them were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries while the others were taken for observation.

FedEx Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Tokyo International Airport

FedExA FedEx plane made an emergency landing at Tokyo International Airport, Japan, on November 21.

The Boeing-777 cargo plane, en-route from Shanghai, China, to Memphis, Tennessee, was diverted after a fire alarm went off mid-air.

The plane landed safely. There were four crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

Upon landing, the inspection teams searched the plane and found the fire source in a container.

The incident is being investigated.
