1 Survives, 8 Die in Indonesian Plane Crash

A Dimonim Air plane crashed in Papua, Indonesia, on August 11th.

The plane carrying nine people was heading to Oksibil airport, Indonesia, when it went down.

Eight people were killed in the crash while a twelve-year-old boy was found alive.

The cause of crash is being investigated.

NAM Air Plane Returns to Indonesia after Engine Shut Down

NAM Air flight IN-750 had to return and make an emergency landing at Nabire Airport, Papua, Indonesia, on July 20th.

The Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A flying to Biak, Indonesia, had to return because the crew had to shut one of its engines down.

The plane landed safely.

No one was injured.

My Indo Airlines Plane makes Hard Landing in Indonesia due to Tyres Burst

A My Indo Airlines’ freight flight made a hard landing at Wamena Airport, Papua, Indonesia, on July 1st.

The Boeing 737-200 flying from Jayapura, Indonesia, rolled out after landing on the runway, and turned around to the backtrack due to tyres burst.

The plane was carrying 4 crew members, and 12 tons of fuel and food cargo.

No injuries were reported.

Indonesian Military Plane Crashed in Papua; 13 Killed

An Indonesian military plane crashed into a mountain in Papua province of Indonesia, on December 18th.

The Hercules C-130 plane took off from Timika, Papua, and was preparing to land in Wamena, Papua, when it went down.

There were 13 people aboard the plane, including 3 pilots and 10 passengers; all of them were killed in the crash.

Trigana Air Service Freighter Plane makes Hard Landing in Indonesia

Trigana AirTrigana Air Service flight IL-7321 made a hard landing at Wamena Airport, Papua, Indonesia, on September 13th.

The Boeing 737-300 freighter en-route from Jayapura, Indonesia, touched down at the runway very hard in a nose high position.

The right main gear of the plane collapsed and it slid on its nose gear.

All 3 crew members and 15.3 tons of cargo remained safe.

1 Killed, 3 Injured as Helicopter Crashes in Indonesia

A Bell 206 helicopter crashed in Paniai district of Papua Province, Indonesia, on June 4th.

The aircraft went down when it was transporting three passengers from Nabire to a mining site in Degewo.

The pilot was killed in the crash while the passengers were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Spokesperson of Indonesia’s national police Agus Rianto said, “We have evacuated the passengers to the nearby city of Nabire so they could get medical treatment.”

The cause of crash is being investigated.

Small Plane Crashes in Papua New Guinea; 12 Killed

A small plane nose-dived and crashed near Kiunga Airport, Kiunga, Papua New Guinea, on April 13th.

The single-engine aircraft was heading toward Kiunga Airport from Telefomin, West Sepik, when the pilot had to attempt for an emergency landing due to engine failure.

The plane crashed upon landing.

All 12 people aboard were killed in the crash.

Garuda Flight Landed in Emergency after Wing Damage

GarudaGaruda flight GA 698 had to make an emergency landing at Frans Kaisiepo Airport in Biak, Papua, Indonesia, on January 26.

The flight, heading from Manokwari to Sentani Airport, Jayapura, had to declare emergency after one of its wings got damaged.

According to the Head of Sentani Airport, Herson, the technicians in Biak found black smoke coming from the left wing of the plane. He added, “It is suspected that the flight was struck by lightning.”

Some passenger reported that the flight was postponed till Tuesday.
