A small plane made an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport, Pennsylvania, on June 4.
Authorities said the Hawker 4000 jet was flying from Carlsbad, New Mexico to Monmouth Airport, New Jersey, when it experienced nose gear issues and had to make an emergency landing.
The plane skidded along the runway and came to stop with its nose gear up.
There were 5 people aboard at the time; none of them was injured.
A small plane made an emergency landing at Grand Junction Regional Airport, Colorado, on April 30.
Authorities said the Cessna 172 RG plane was attempting to land at the airport when its nose gear failed to deploy. The pilot then informed the control tower officials and requested an emergency protocol for landing.
The plane landed uneventfully.
There were 3 people aboard including the pilot and his two passengers; all of them remained unharmed.
A Cessna 182 had to land in emergency at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport in Lubbock, Texas, on the afternoon of April 9.
Authorities said the pilot requested an emergency landing due to issues with plane’s nose landing gear.
The plane landed uneventfully at around 12 p.m.
The pilot remained unharmed.
Go Jet flight 3645, operated by United Airlines, had to make an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, Illinois, on the afternoon of March 14.
The plane was flying from Grand Rapids, Michigan, when its front landing gear failed to deploy. The pilot then declared emergency and asked the passengers to brace for landing.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 37 passengers and 4 crew members remained unharmed.
The cause of incident is under investigation.
A Turkish Airlines passenger jet, operating flight # TK726, skidded off the runway at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, on March 4.
The accident happened in dense foggy conditions, when the Airbus A330, carrying 224 people, was coming from Istanbul, Turkey.
The plane ended up on its nose and the passengers had to use emergency slides to exit.
None of the passengers and crew members sustained serious injuries.
U.S. Airways Flight 1825 had to make an emergency landing at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, on the night of February 9.
The Embraer 190 plane was coming from Philadelphia when the pilot reported an issue with its nose gear. According to the Houston Airport System spokesperson David Hebert, “They did a couple of turns around the airport airspace, talked to the FAA tower, tried to get visual confirmation that the nose gear was, in fact, inoperable. Unfortunately it wasn’t working properly. So the airline talked to the pilots and they made the determination to go ahead and do the landing without the benefit of the nose gear.”
The plane, carrying 52 passengers and 4 crew members, landed successfully. According to the airline, “One passenger has been transported to a local hospital, however, the injuries of that passenger are not reported to be serious.”
The FAA and the NTSB is investigating.
A single-engine Cessna plane made an emergency landing at David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport, located in Spring, Texas, on November 10.
The pilot declared emergency after the aircraft’s nose landing gear failed to deploy.
After circling over the airport for about 30 minutes, the aircraft successfully made a nose down landing shortly after 5 p.m. The pilot and his only passenger remained uninjured.
The FAA is investigating.
