    Delta Airlines Plane makes Safe Landing in South Dakota

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-2845 made a safe landing at Rapid City’s Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, on July 7th.

    The Airbus A320-200, flying from Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Rapid City Regional Airport, South Dakota, accidentally landed on the airport’s air force base.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.

    Southwest Airlines Plane Diverts to Nebraska due to Engine Problem

    southwest_airlines_logoSouthwest Airlines flight WN-1797 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Eppley Airfield, Omaha, Nebraska, on June 1st.

    The Boeing 737-700, heading from Phoenix, Arizona, to Minneapolis, Minnesota, was mid-air when the crew reported a problem with one of its engines.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All people onboard remained unharmed.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

    Delta Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at JFK Airport

    The plane was en-route from Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Amsterdam, Netherlands, when the crew received an engine filter indication and declared an emergency.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    The passengers were accommodated in other flights.

    Delta Airlines Flight Diverts to Wisconsin Over Medical Emergency

    A Delta Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing at Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on February 10.

    The flight, operated by Flagship (Endeavor), was heading from JFK Airport, New York, to Minneapolis, Minnesota, when a passenger had a medical emergency, prompting the pilot to divert.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    Spirit Airlines Jet Returns to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

    spiritSpirit Airlines Flight 596 had to return and make an emergency landing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 19.

    According to the airline, “the flight crew decided to return to the gate because of a security issue on board.” It is believed that two passengers were overheard mentioning ‘bomb’ about 20 minutes after the plane took off for Minneapolis, Minnesota.

    The plane landed uneventfully. The passengers who were heard talking about bomb were removed while the Bomb-sniffing dogs searched the aircraft.

    Authorities confirmed that no explosive were found.

    Delta Airlines Plane Returns to Minnesota after Lavatory Smoke Indication

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-1996 had to return and make an emergency landing at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, Minnesota, on October 22nd.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-88 en-route to LaGuardia Airport, New York, had to return after the crew received indication of smoke in lavatory.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All 149 passengers aboard were unhurt.

    The passengers were later provided a replacement plane.

    SkyWest’s Delta Connection Flight Hits a Bird

    SkyWestA SkyWest Airlines flight en route from Minneapolis to Rapid City had to return and land back after a bird hit the aircraft at about 4000 feet altitude.

    The Canadair CRJ-200 aircraft, belonging to SkyWest airlines and operating as a Delta airlines connection, was taking 50 passengers to Rapid City, South Dakota. The plane took off at about 9:48pm on April 22 and just after 10 minutes, experienced a bird strike. The pilot then immediately returned and landed at St. Paul International Airport, Minneapolis.

    The bird strike damaged the nose cone of the aircraft. The director of corporate communications for SkyWest Airlines, Marissa Snow confirmed that the bird strike forced the flight 4480 to return and land in Minneapolis.

    The passengers were accommodated in hotels and were taken to the Rapid City next day, through another plane.
