    Bird-Hit Delta Airlines Plane Makes Safe Landing in Salt Lake City

    Delta Airlines flight DL-2785 made a safe landing following bird strikes near Salt Lake City, Utah, on August 27th.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane flying from John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, was on final approach to Salt Lake City International Airport when it suffered bird strikes.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Single Engine Plane Crashes in California; 2 Killed

    A single-engine plane crashed at Lake Berryessa between Pleasure Cove Marina and Markley Cove Resort in Napa County, California, on the morning of May 8th.

    The two men aboard the Icon A5, identified as Jon Murray Karkow, 55, and his passenger Cagri Sever, 41, were killed in the crash. Both were employees of Icon Aircraft.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    SkyWest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Chicago

    SkyWest Airlines flight OO-3079 had to return and make an emergency landing in Chicago, Illinois, on February 18th.

    The plane took off for Salt Lake City, Utah, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew failed to retract landing gear. The plane landed back safely.

    All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Pilot Injured After Small Plane Crashed in Minnesota

    A small plane crashed in Ellendale, Minnesota, on February 2nd.

    Authorities said the plane flying from Duluth to Winona, Minnesota, went down near 72nd avenue and Beaver Lake.

    The pilot, Daniel Johnathan Bass, 39, was injured and was taken to a hospital.

    The incident is being investigated.

    Delta Airlines Plane Returns to Salt Lake City after Bird Strike

    The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Austin, Texas, but had to return shortly afterwards after a bird strike caused damage to one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. There were 120 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    A light plane crashed over Lake Naivasha, Naivasha, Nakuru County, Kenya, on the noon of September 8th.

    The crash killed 1 woman and injured 5 other occupants. The injured were taken to hospital.

    Small Plane Crashes into Lake in Louisiana; 2 Missing

    A small Cessna crashed into Lake Pontchartrain near the New Orleans Lakefront Airport, New Orleans, Louisiana, on the night of August 27th.

    There were three people onboard out of whom a woman was rescued and taken to hospital.

    Two missing persons are still being searched for.

    Float Plane Pilot Rescued after it Crashes in Alaska

    A float plane crashed near Ketchikan on the shoreline of a lake in Prince of Wales Island, Alaska, on August 15th.

    According to sources the plane wreckage was located on the Island, after which the pilot was rescued by the MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter.

    One person aboard was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

    The Boeing 737-900 was flying from Phoenix, Arizona, when lightning struck it, causing minor damage to the nose cone.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Pilot Killed after Small Plane Crashes in Alberta

    A small plane crashed near Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, on May 7th.

    Authorities said the plane went down in a farm field located west of Sylvan Lake.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the crash. He was identified as 70-year-old Mike Paul Chysyk, of Saskatoon.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    A small plane crashed on Lake Gaston, North Carolina, on April 24th.

    The 2005 Maule 235 single engine-plane was attempting to land when the pilot lost control and it flipped three times.

    There were three people aboard, including the pilot Paul Heaton, of Roanoke Rapids, and two passengers; none of them were hurt.

    The incident is being investigated.

    A small plane crashed in a remote mountainous area near Nakusp, British Columbia, Canada, on April 11th.

    Authorities said the Rockwell 112B plane, that took off from Kelowna, went down in the Trout Lake area.

    There were two people aboard at the time; both of them were killed in the crash.

    Small Plane Crashes in El Paso County; 2 Killed

    A small plane crashed near Palmer Lake in El Paso County, Colorado, on March 2nd.

    Authorities said the single-engine plane caught fire after the crash which also spread to the surrounding grass.

    FAA officials confirmed that both people aboard the plane were killed in the crash. Their identities have not yet been released.

    The NTSB are the FAA are investigating the cause of crash.

    2 Killed as Small Plane Crashed into Lake in Orlando

    A Beechcraft Bonanza plane crashed into Clear Lake in Orlando, Florida, on November 20.

    The six-seater aircraft, carrying two people, took off from Orlando Executive Airport but crashed just fifteen minutes later into the lake located off Rio Grande Avenue.

    Both occupants of the plane, including a man who appeared to be in his 50s and a teenage girl, were killed in the crash.

    Authorities said the plane was en-route to Gainesville, Texas, at the time.

    The NTSB and the FAA are investigating.
