Border Security Force Plane Crashed in New Delhi; 10 Killed

A Border Security Force (BSF) plane crashed near Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Dehli, India, on December 22.

The Beech SuperKing B200 aircraft, carrying 10 BSF personnel, went down just after taking off from the Delhi airport. Authorities believe the plane’s left engine stopped working, causing it to crash into the wall of airport’s sewage treatment plant and ending up in the water.

All ten personnel aboard the plane were killed in the crash.

The accident is being investigated.

Delta Airlines Flight Diverts to Corpus Christi International Airport

ExpressJetExpressJet flight 5009, operating as a Delta connection, made an emergency landing at Corpus Christi International Airport, Texas, on December 23.

The plane, heading from Monterrey, Mexico, to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia, was diverted after its air conditioning system stopped working.

The plane landed uneventfully. There were 71 passengers and 4 crew members aboard at the time; the airport reported that two passengers were given medical assistance in an air conditioned ambulance.

Batik Air Plane Over-runs on Indonesian Runway

Batik AirBatik Air flight ID-6380 over-ran the end of runway at Adisucipto International Airport, Yokyakarta, Indonesia, on November 6.

The Boeing 737-900, flying from Jakarta, over-ran the runway and stopped later with its nose gear collapsed. The passengers had to be evacuated.

The plane sustained significant damage.

No injuries were reported.

SriLankan Airlines Plane Stops at Runway in India after Hydraulic Problem

Srilankan airlinesSriLankan Airlines flight UL-125 had to stop at runway 25 of Chennai International Airport, India, on September 10.

The Airbus A330-200, en-route from Colombo, Sri Lanka, to Chennai, had to be stopped before reaching the apron due to over-heated hydraulic system.

The plane landed uneventfully.

All 114 people aboard remained unhurt.
