<p>The plane was en-route to Republic Airport, Farmingdale, when it developed some engine issues. Authorities said the parachute attached to the plane deployed before it went down in a grassy area, just 8 miles east of Republic Airport.</p>
<p>The plane was carrying two people at the time, including the pilot Louis Obergh and his daughter, Rachel Obergh. Both of them suffered minor injuries. They were returning after visiting University of Rhode Island.</p>

<p>The jet that took off from Luke Air Force Base near Phoenix, was carrying a student pilot from Taiwan when it went down. Authorities said the pilot was practicing air-to-air combat with an instructor as part of training.</p>
<p>According to Brig. Gen. Scott Pleus, commander of the 56th Fighter Wing at Luke, &#8220;All indications lead me to believe that the pilot did not survive the accident…But until we have 100 percent confirmation, we will continue search efforts.&#8221;</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A Norwegian postal plane crashed in a remote mountainous area near the Akkajaure reservoir in Lapland region of northern Sweden, on January 8.</p>
<p>The Canadair CRJ 200 aircraft was carrying mail from Oslo to Tromso, Norway, when it went down. According to Daniel Lindblad, spokesman for the Swedish Maritime Administration, “They sent a very brief &#8216;mayday&#8217; and then the plane disappeared from our radar. The weather conditions weren&#8217;t harsh.”</p>
<p>There were two people aboard the plane, including the 42-year-old captain and a 34-year-old first officer; both of them are feared dead.</p>

<p>The plane took off from Jim Taylor Field at Ocala International Airport and was heading to Tallahassee International Airport when it went down.</p>
<p>There were two people aboard at the time; both of the were killed in the crash. They were identified as the pilot William Swiggart, 32, and the passenger Maitland Harvey, 18.</p>

<p>Authorities said the helicopter, that took off from Venice Regional Airport with a female student pilot and a male teacher on-board, made a rough landing in a heavily wooded area of Lemon Bay Preserve.</p>
<p>The student sustained facial/head injuries and was airlifted to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The teacher was taken to Venice Bayfront Health.</p>
