Flybe Plane Crash-Lands at Amsterdam Airport; No Injuries Reported

Flybe flight BE-1284 crash-landed at Amsterdam Airport, Netherlands, on February 23rd.

The plane was coming from Edinburgh, Scotland, when its right main gear collapsed during landing.

There were 59 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

The aircraft suffered significant damage.

2 Taken to Hospital After Small Plane Crashes Off Long Island Coast

A small plane crashed into the Long Island Sound near Shoreham, Suffolk County, New York, on December 11th.

Authorities said the pilot reported engine issues before the Beech BE36 plane went down.

There were two people aboard at the time, including the pilot Inderpal Chhabra, 48, and passenger David Tobachnik, 59. Both were shifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Nepal Airlines Flight Returns to Kathmandu after Bird Strike

nepal airlinesNepal Airlines flight RA-409 had to return and make a precautionary landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal, on July 7th.

The Airbus A320-200 was en-route to Hong Kong, China, when one of its engines ingested a bird, prompting the plane to return.

The plane landed safely. All 59 people onboard remained unharmed.

The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

Pilot Killed after Helicopter Crashes on Denver Glacier, AK

A helicopter crashed on Denver Glacier in Skagway, Alaska, on May 7th.

Authorities said the helicopter was returning from TEMSCO’s dog camp on Juneau Icefield when it went down.

The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the crash. He was identified as Christopher Maggio, 59.

The cause of crash is under investigation.

Former Canadian Minister Jean Lapierre and 6 Others Die in Plane Crash

A small plane crashed in the Magdalen Islands, Quebec, Canada, on March 29th.

The private plane, transporting Jean Lapierre, 59, a broadcaster and former Canadian transport minister, and his family members to his father’s funeral, went down while approaching the Iles-de-la-Madeleine Airport amid heavy winds and snow.

All seven people aboard, including the pilot, the co-pilot, Lapierre, and his family members, were killed in the crash.

The incident is being investigated.

AirBaltic Flight Makes Emergency Landing after Clear Air Turbulence Injures Three

AirBalticAirBaltic flight BT-211 had to make an emergency landing at Berlin Tegel Airport, Germany on November 24.

The Boeing 737-300, flying from Riga, Latvia, declared emergency after it encountered severe clear air turbulence that injured a flight attendant and two passengers.

The plane landed uneventfully. Authorities said one passenger was taken to hospital with a fractured leg while the other passenger and crew member were treated at the airport.

The flight was carrying 59 passengers and 5 crew members at the time.
