Pilot Injured after Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Jefferson County Field

A small plane made an emergency landing in a field in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, on December 27.

Authorities said the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing after his single engine Series SR22 plane, which took off from Watertown Airport, developed some engine issues.

Deputies found the plane in a plowed corn field near Aliceton Drive and Ceasar Road in Watertown.

The 67-year-old pilot, who was the only one aboard, sustained non life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Aurora Hospital in Waukesha.

Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Duplin County

emergencyA small plane made an emergency landing on Highway 11 near Garland King Road in Duplin County, North Carolina, on December 21.

The pilot Richard Kenny said he was forced to land on the highway after his plane ran out of fuel. He was heading from Long Island, New York, to Orlando, Florida, at the time.

The plane hit a highway sign while landing. No injuries were reported.

Two Killed as Small Plane Crashes in Madison County

A two-seater RV-4 plane crashed in a heavily wooded area off Mosley Hall Road in rural Madison County, Florida, on December 17.

The plane took off from Jim Taylor Field at Ocala International Airport and was heading to Tallahassee International Airport when it went down.

There were two people aboard at the time; both of the were killed in the crash. They were identified as the pilot William Swiggart, 32, and the passenger Maitland Harvey, 18.

The cause of crash is being investigated.

Two Injured as Helicopter Crashes in Sarasota County

A helicopter crashed near Kenisco Road in South Venice, Sarasota County. Florida, on December 1.

Authorities said the helicopter, that took off from Venice Regional Airport with a female student pilot and a male teacher on-board, made a rough landing in a heavily wooded area of Lemon Bay Preserve.

The student sustained facial/head injuries and was airlifted to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The teacher was taken to Venice Bayfront Health.

The FAA is investigating.

Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Franklin County Field

A small Cessna 172 plane made an emergency landing in a field on Woodlake Road near U.S. 460, Franklin County, Kentucky, on November 27.

The plane was heading from Jacksonville, North Carolina, to Frankfort, Kentucky when it apparently experienced engine issues and was forced to land in the field.

Authorities said the plane landed uneventfully. The pilot Dean Stoops and his only passenger Cindy Stoops remained safe.

The incident is under investigation.

2 Injured as Small Plane Crashes into Backyard of Gwinnett County Home

philippine_crashA small plane crashed in the backyard of a home Old Fountain Road in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County, Georgia, on November 24.

The incident happened when the pilot of the Piper PA 28 plane was practicing takeoffs and landings.

Authorities said there were two people in the plane at the time of crash, including the pilot, in his middle 20s, from Duluth, and a teenage passenger from Johns Creek; both of them sustained non-life threatening injuries.

No one on the ground was injured.

The incident is being investigated.

Small Plane Crashed into Residential Building in Ohio; 9 Killed

A small plane crashed into an apartment complex at 3042 Mogadore Road, near Skelton Road, in Akron, Ohio, on November 10.

Authorities said the Hawker H25 business jet was approaching Akron Fulton International Airport when it apparently hit some power lines and crashed into the four-family apartment complex. The plane was flying from Dayton Wright Brothers Airport.

There were 9 people aboard at the time; all of them were killed.

The house, that was vacant at the time, was completely destroyed.

The crash is under investigation.

Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Mount Airy Cornfield

A 1976 Cessna 150 M had to make an emergency landing in a cornfield on Bill Moxley Road, Mount Airy, Maryland, on September 19.

The pilot, identified as Paul Borghese, 47, of Ashburn, Virginia, said he was forced to make an emergency landing after the plane experienced engine issues. He was heading from Clearview Airpark, Westminster to Leesburg, Virginia at the time.

The plane ended up on its roof and sustained minor damage.

The pilot remained unharmed.
