JetBlue Plane Makes Emergency Landing due to Mechanical Issue

JetBlueJetBlue flight 1146 had to make an emergency landing at Charleston International Airport, South Carolina, on November 21st.

The plane took off from Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport, Florida, and was heading to Richmond, Virginia, when the crew noticed a mechanical issue and decided to divert.

The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

Small Plane Crashed in Potter County, PA; 3 Killed

A Piper PA-28 plane crashed in Potter County, Pennsylvania, on October 16th.

The plane was heading from Richmond International Airport, Virginia, to St. Catharines/Niagara District Airport, Ontario, Canada, when it went down in Keating Township.

Three were three people aboard at the time; all of them were killed in the crash. They were identified as 18-year-old Cory Mijac, 25-year-old Rifat Tawig, and 18-year-old Benjamin Jeffries. All of them were from Ontario, Canada.

The cause of crash is being investigated.

GoJet Airlines Plane Diverts to Richmond due to Engine Issue

GoJetGoJet Airlines flight DL-6185 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Richmond, Virginia, on July 22nd.

The plane heading from Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina to LaGuardia Airport, New York, was diverted due to a fault in the right hand engine.

The plane landed uneventfully. There were 60 passengers and 4 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

Piedmont Air Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Philadelphia

PiedmontPiedmont Air Flight AA-4801, operating on behalf of American Eagle, made an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport, Pennsylvania, on April 29th.

The plane, flying from Richmond, Virginia, declared emergency after the crew noticed smoke in the cabin.

The plane landed safely. All 50 passengers and 4 crew members remained unharmed.

United Airlines Plane Diverts to Vancouver over ‘Threatening Message’

new-united-logoUnited Airlines flight 1104 had to make an emergency landing at Vancouver International Airport, Canada, on January 9.

The plane, heading from Anchorage, Alaska, to Denver, Colorado, was diverted after the crew discovered a threatening message from a passenger.

The plane landed uneventfully. There were 131 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police office in Richmond, British Columbia, confirmed that they took the suspect in custody.

Richmond Attorney Killed in North Carolina Plane Crash

CessnaA celebrated aviation expert and attorney, Albert M. Orgain IV, was killed after his single-engine Cessna 182 went down in a field, around 5 miles southwest of the Halifax-Northampton Regional Airport in North Carolina, on June 27.

The aircraft took off from Sabot Airport, located west of Richmond, Virginia, and was destined for the Rocky Mount-Wilson Regional Airport. According to the FAA, the plane crashed after the pilot reported engine trouble at about 10 a.m. and diverted the plane to the Halifax-Northampton Regional Airport.

The plane was registered to Albert M. Orgain IV, who was an aviation expert, a Richmond-area attorney and a member of Sands Anderson law firm. Sands Anderson law firm confirmed that Orgain was flying the plane at the time of accident.

The FAA and NTSB is investigating the cause of crash.
