Etihad Airlines EY-27 made a safe emergency landing at Edinburgh Airport, Scotland, UK, on August 1st.
The Airbus A330-200 flying from Abu Dhabi, UAE, had just landed when the crew noticed a hole under its right side wing.
The plane landed uneventfully.
No one was injured.
Daallo Airlines flight D3159 had to return and make an emergency landing in Mogadishu, Somalia, on February 2nd.
The Airbus A321 plane took off for Djibouti, but had to return shortly afterwards after an explosion sparked fire and blew a hole in the fuselage.
The plane landed back uneventfully. There were 74 passengers and crew members aboard at the time; two of them sustained minor injuries.
The incident is under investigation.
An aircraft flying high over Modesto, California, is being suspected after a large chunk of ice crashed through a house on September 9th.
According to the resident Monica Savath, she was with her family in the living room when they heard a loud bang. Upon checking, they found a hole in the garage’s roof and shattered ice.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
According to National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Mathews, it could be a loose frozen vapor from an aircraft.
