Air Bagan Plane Crash Details

The Air Bagan (Htoo Trading Company) Fokker 100 jet carrying 71 from Rangoon to Mandalay to Heho Airport crashed en route in Myanmar and killed two.

Heavy fog and bad weatherwas blamed for the accident.

Two died and 11 were injured. 48 of those aboard were “foreigners.” The fatalities were Burmese, including a man on a motorcycle who was on the ground.

Survivors described a landing resembling a roller coaster ride, and they panicked when they saw flames and could not get the door open.

When the doors were forced open, passengers rushed out.

The plane’s black box has been recovered and will be sent to Singapore.

The two black boxes have been recovered.
