Orlando-Bound Jetblue Plane Encounters Severe Turbulence; At Least 8 Injured

JetBlueJetblue flight B6-1134 encountered severe turbulence while heading to Orlando International Airport, Florida, on May 9th.

The plane was flying from San Juan, Puerto Rico, when it ran into severe turbulence that injured at least 8 passengers.

The plane continued for a safe landing in Orlando. The injured were taken to hospitals.

AirAsia Plane Diverts due to Medical Emergency

AirAsia ZestAn AirAsia plane made an emergency landing in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, on January 7.

Authorities said the plane, heading from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was diverted due to a medical emergency. It is believed that an elderly woman passenger suffered from severe chest pain mid air.

The plane landed safely. All 286 passengers remained unhurt.

The 71-year-old passenger was rushed to a hospital in Guindy, along with two attendants.

The flight resumed after half an hour.

Air Canada Flight Diverts to Calgary due to Heavy Turbulence; 21 Passengers Hospitalised

Air CanadaAir Canada flight AC88 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Calgary International Airport in Canada, on December 30.

The plane, heading from Shanghai, China, to Toronto, Canada, was diverted after it encountered severe turbulence that injured some of the passengers.

The plane was carrying 332 passengers and 19 crew members at the time; 21 of them were taken to hospitals. According to the airline, eight of them were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries while the others were taken for observation.

Technician Killed after Being Sucked into Air India Plane’s Engine at Mumbai Airport

airindialogoAn aircraft technician was killed after he was pulled into the engine of an Air India plane that was getting ready to taxi at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, India, on December 16.

Authorities said the plane, performing flight AI 619 between Mumbai and Hyderabad, had just began its pushback when the technician Ravi Subramanian got sucked into the engine.

Ravi was killed instantly. His body was severely mutilated.

The incident is under investigation.

AirBaltic Flight Makes Emergency Landing after Clear Air Turbulence Injures Three

AirBalticAirBaltic flight BT-211 had to make an emergency landing at Berlin Tegel Airport, Germany on November 24.

The Boeing 737-300, flying from Riga, Latvia, declared emergency after it encountered severe clear air turbulence that injured a flight attendant and two passengers.

The plane landed uneventfully. Authorities said one passenger was taken to hospital with a fractured leg while the other passenger and crew member were treated at the airport.

The flight was carrying 59 passengers and 5 crew members at the time.
