Royal Brunei Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Vienna

Royal Brunei Airlines flight BI-3 made an emergency landing in Vienna, Austria, on November 7th.

The Boeing 787-800 plane heading from Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei, to Heathrow Airport, England, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines due to an oil leak.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

TAROM Flight Returns to Romania due to Suspected Oil Leak

TAROM flight RO-363 returned to Henri Coanda International Airport, Romania, on October 3rd.

The Boeing 737-300 plane took off for Amsterdam, Netherlands, but had to turn back due to a suspected oil leak.

The plane back landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Myanmar National Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Dawei, Myanmar

Myanmar National Airlines flight UB-313 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Dawei, Myanmar, on April 14th.

The plane heading from Yangon to Myeik, Myanmar, was diverted after the crew noticed an engine oil leak.

The plane landed safely. All sixty-nine passengers aboard remained unharmed.

Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Chicago Parking Lot

A helicopter made an emergency landing in a parking lot in Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, on October 14.

The aircraft was heading from O’Hare International Airport to Peoria, Illinois, when the pilot noticed oil leak and decided to land in parking lot of a Menard’s.

The helicopter landed safely. The pilot, who was the only one aboard, remained unhurt.

The aircraft is registered to Rotor Holdings LLC, of Hampton, New Hampshire.

Venice-Bound Germanwings Flight Diverts to Stuttgart Airport

GermanwingsGermanwings Flight 4U 814 had to divert and make an unscheduled landing at Stuttgart Airport, Germany, on April 4.

The airline said the Airbus A319, en-route from Cologne, Germany, to Venice, Italy, had to be diverted after the pilot reported suspected oil leakage and shut down one of the engines. “This is a standard safety procedure. It was not an emergency landing,” the statement said.

The plane landed safely and all 123 passengers and 5 crew members remained safe.

The aircraft was taken for inspection while an alternate plane was arranged for the passengers.

Air India Flight Lands in Emergency at Toronto

airindiaAir India flight 126 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Toronto Pearson Airport, Canada, at around 0700 hours IST on September 7.

The Chicago-Delhi-Hyderabad flight was diverted after the pilot suspected oil leakage in one of the 2 engines of the Boeing 777 ER aircraft.

The plane landed safely after shedding extra fuel and none of the 342 passengers aboard was hurt.

Ground engineers at Toronto Pearson Airport were inspecting the aircraft for determining source of leakage.

Aerolineas Estelar Flight Made Emergency Landing in Jamaica

Aerolineas EstelarAn Aerolineas Estelar flight, on its way from Cuba to Venezuela, had to make an emergency landing at the Norman Manley International Airport, Kingston, Jamaica, in the afternoon of September 6.

According to the authorities, the reason of emergency landing was an oil leak in the aircraft.

The plane landed uneventfully and no one was hurt.

Director General of the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority, Leroy Lindsay said the aircraft will remain in Jamaica until the cause of the leak is determined. “They’ll be doing their investigations into what may have caused this oil leak and when they discover it, they will have to fix it and make sure it’s working before it is released. Our people from the flight safety division of the JCAA will have to be convinced that the aircraft is in air worthiness condition to depart,” he said.

The passengers were booked in alternate flights to Venezuela.
