British Airways Plane Returns and makes Emergency Landing in Italy

British airwaysBritish Airways flight BA-2607 had to return and make an emergency landing at Naples International Airport, Naples, Italy, on March 31.

The Airbus A320-200, en-route to London, England, was climbing out of Naples when a chemical smell was sensed onboard, prompting the plane to return. The airline reported that there was a technical issue.

The plane landed uneventfully.

All passengers and crew members onboard remained unharmed.

Alitalia Jet Diverts to Naples International Airport due to Violent Hailstorm

AlitaliaAlitalia flight AZ2016 made an emergency landing at Naples International Airport in Italy, on August 19th.

According to the airline, “Alitalia flight AZ2016 from Rome to Milan Linate, scheduled on 8.00 am this morning, went through an extraordinary and violent hailstorm soon after taking off from Fiumicino airport… Therefore, the pilots decided to head to Naples airport.”

The plane landed safely and all 110 passengers remained uninjured.

The aircraft sustained serious damage due to the storm.

The airline accommodated the passengers in other flights.

Private Jet with 9 Onboard Crash-Lands at Marco Island Executive Airport

A private plane crash-landed at Marco Island Executive Airport in Naples, Florida, on March 1.

According to the FAA, the Canadair CL-600 was attempting to land at the airport when the pilot noticed a fault in reverse thrusters. The plane was flying from Florida Keys Marathon Airport at the time.

Authorities said the plane skidded off the runway before coming to stop at a safety zone.

There were 9 people aboard at the time of incident; one of them was taken to hospital for examination.

The accident remains under investigation.
