Fire Tanker Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Chico Municipal Airport

An aerial fire tanker made an emergency landing at Chico Municipal Airport, California, on June 30th.

The DC-7 Erickson Aero Tanker took off from Chico Airport but had to return shortly afterwards due to an issue with its hydraulics.

Three wheels caught fire as the plane landed on the airport.

All four crew members aboard remained safe.

Private Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Wicomico Regional Airport

A private plane made an emergency landing at Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport in Maryland, on November 22.

Authorities said hydraulics failure forced the pilots of the Cambridge-bound plane to divert.

The plane landed safely. All four people, including two pilots and two passengers, remained unhurt.

128th Air Refueling Wing.A 128th Air Refueling Wing plane had to make an emergency landing at Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, due to mechanical issues, on August 7.

The incident happened when the KC-135R Stratotanker was on a routine training missions with 4 people aboard. The hydraulics on the boom, used for fueling, stopped working at about 2 p.m. when it was flying over Illinois.

The plane safely landed after about 40 minutes. 128th Air Refueling Wing Col. James Locke said, “The air crew is trained and disciplined, and they know how to handle in-flight emergencies. We have simulators, and we have routine functions that make this very doable, very manageable.”
