Allegiant Air flight G4-7001 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood International Airport, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on May 5th.
The Airbus A319-100, heading from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, to Pittsburgh, was mid-air above Atlantic Ocean when it encountered turbulence, prompting the plane to divert.
The plane landed uneventfully.
The turbulence caused minor injuries to 5 out of 143 people aboard. The injured were treated at the airport.
