The Southwest flight was coming from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, while the Delta flight was arriving from Portland, Oregon.

Both aircrafts landed uneventfully and all passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

The passengers were allowed to leave the airport after the FBI authorities debriefed them. The planes and luggage were thoroughly searched by the bomb disposal squad.

An airport spokesperson later confirmed on twitter, “All clear for both aircraft & normal airport operations have resumed. Thank you for your patience. Safety & security are our top priorities.”

The post Two U.S. Airliners Searched at Atlanta Airport after ‘Credible’ Bomb Threat first appeared on George Hatcher's Air Flight Disaster.

According to Rebecca Bloomfield from the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, officials at San Diego’s Lindbergh Field received a call from the Transportation Security Administration’s Coordination Center that the FBI was looking into a tweet indicating about possible explosives aboard flight 362. The twitter threat was posted by @LizardSquad at around 10:45 a.m. on August 24. It read: @AmericanAir: We have been receiving reports that @j_smedley’s plane #362 from DFW to SAN has explosives on-board, please look into this.

She further said that the FBI officials then diverted the flight to Phoenix where it made a safe emergency landing. Everyone aboard remained safe.

Passengers had to wait while the federal investigators searched the plane for any explosives. The flight resumed to San Diego after 4 hours. The FBI is investigating the incident.

The post Bomb Threat Tweet Prompts American Airlines Emergency Landing first appeared on George Hatcher's Air Flight Disaster.

On May 24, 2013, a Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777-340ER was en route from Allama Iqbal Int’l to Manchester when a stewardess told the Captain Nadeem Sufi that a passenger had threatened to bomb the plane. Sixty miles east of their destination, the pilot diverted to Stansted Airport with a British fighter escort.

Mr. Mohammad Shafqat and Ms. Ammara Ashraf had been fighting with eight family members, and when the argument escalated, the two were taken into custody and then released.

During the domestic fight, two men who approached the cockpit were also arrested aboard the plane, handcuffed, and taken into custody to the police station at Stansted. The case is being treated as a criminal rather than terror case.

There were 11 crew and 297 passengers aboard.

Although the Pakistani High Commission blames the pilot for making a decision that puts PIA in a bad light, we believe that the fact that because Captain Sufi landed the plane without injury or loss of life, then he made the right decision.

The post Domestic Squabble and Bomb Threat on Pia Flight first appeared on George Hatcher's Air Flight Disaster.
