Cargolux Plane Returns to Canada after AoA Vane Goes Missing

cargoluxCargolux flight CV-775 had to return and make an emergency landing at Calgary International Airport, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on May 28th.

The Boeing 747-400, en-route to Luxembourg, had to return shortly after the crew heard a loud bang followed by the stick shaker activating. It later turned out that an AoA (Angle of Attack) vane was missing.

The plane landed uneventfully.

All people onboard remained safe.

KLM Plane Returns to Netherlands after Bird Strike

KLMKLM flight KL-601 had to return and make a precautionary landing at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Amsterdam, Netherlands, on April 24th.

The Boeing 747-400, en-route from Amsterdam, to Los Angeles, California, was climbing out of the runway when it ingested a bird and continued flying till it was mid-air above Norwich, England, when the crew decided to return as a safety precaution.

The plane landed successfully. All people onboard remained unharmed.

The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

UPS Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Cologne

UPSUPS flight 5X-2 had to return and make an emergency landing in Cologne, Germany, on April 10th.

The Boeing 747-400 cargo plane took off for Hong Kong, China, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported that they had to shut down one of the engines.

The plane landed uneventfully. All 3 crew members aboard remained safe.

KLM Plane Returns to Netherlands after Bird Strike

KLMKLM flight KL-691 had to return and make an emergency landing at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Netherlands, on January 27.

The Boeing 747-400, heading towards Toronto, Ontario, had to dump fuel and return after a bird strike.

The plane landed safely.

No one was injured.

British Airways Plane Diverts to Minnesota due to Smell of Smoke

britishairwaysBritish Airways flight BA-243 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, Minnesota, on Janurary 1st.

The Boeing 747-400, flying from London, UK, to Mexico City, Mexico, had to divert due to smell of smoke in its cockpit.

The plane landed safely.

No injuries were reported.

Cargolux Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Netherlands

cargoluxCargolux flight CV-8674 made an emergency landing at Amsterdam Airport, Amsterdam, Netherlands, on December 17.

The Boeing 747-400 was flying from Nairobi, Kenya, to London, England, when it received a smoke indication mid-air above Netherlands.

The plane diverted and landed safely.

All passengers aboard remained unhurt.
