Flybe Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Southampton

Flybe flight BE-981 made an emergency landing in Southampton, England, on July 13th.

The plane flying from Belfast City, Northern Ireland, was descending towards Southampton when the crew requested emergency assistance, reporting a suspected cracked windscreen.

The plane continued for a safe landing. All fifty-eight people aboard remained safe.

Mount Cook Airlines Plane Returns to New Zealand due to Technical Issue

Mount Cook Airlines flight NZ-5184 had to return and make an emergency landing at Christchurch International Airport, Christchurch, New Zealand, on May 11th.

The Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, flying on behalf of ANZ Air New Zealand towards Palmerston North, New Zealand, had to return due to a technical issue.

The plane landed safely.

All 56 people aboard remained safe.

Southwest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Flaps Problem

Southwest Airlines flight WN-530 made an emergency landing in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 2nd.

The Boeing 737-700 plane flying from Houston, Texas, was on final approach to Kansas City when the crew reported a flaps problem and went around to work related checklists.

The plane subsequently landed safely. All 58 people aboard remained unharmed.

Pilot Killed after Small Plane Crashed in Plainfield, IL

A Piper PA30 plane crashed in Plainfield, Illinois, on July 21st.

The plane was heading to Wisconsin when it went down, causing a house to catch fire.

The pilot Garry T. Bernardo, 58, of Lake Worth, Florida, was killed in the crash. He was the only person aboard the plane.

1 Killed, 1 Injured as Tiger Moth Plane Crashes in Australia

A vintage Tiger Moth plane crashed on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, on December 28.

The biplane, operated by Gold Coast-based Tiger Moth Joy Rides, went down shortly after taking off from an airstrip in Norwell.

A 58-year-old sightseer from New South Wales was killed in the crash. The 21-year-old pilot, who was the only one aboard sustained injuries and was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

The accident is under investigation.

Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Interstate 595, Hits Car

A 1963 Piper PA-24 Comanche plane had to make an emergency landing on Interstate 595 in Davie, Florida, on September 24.

The pilot, identified as Scott Richmond, 58, said he had to make an emergency landing after the plane ran out of fuel. He was en-route from South Carolina to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Florida at the time.

The plane clipped the top of a 2003 Honda Accord before landing on westbound lanes of I-595.

No one was injured in the incident.

The plane and the car sustained minor damage.
