Turkish Military Helicopter Crashed in Kocaeli; 4 Killed
A Turkish military helicopter crashed in a mountainous area of Kartepe district, Kocaeli province, Turkey, on October 12.
The Konya-bound S-70B Sikorsky aircraft took off from the Cengiz Topel Military Airport, Izmir at 12:18 p.m. and lost connection with the air traffic control at 12:25 p.m.
Search and rescue teams were then sent in the area, which spotted the wreckage in a forested region.
There were 4 people aboard the helicopter at the time of crash; all of them were killed. Their bodies were shifted to Gölcük Military Hospital.
