<p>Authorities said the plane, flying from John F Kennedy International Airport, New York, was diverted due to a bomb threat.</p>
<p>The plane landed uneventfully. There were 256 passengers and crew members aboard at the time; none of them were harmed.</p>

<p>The Boeing 777 was on its way to Brussels from Newark, New Jersey, when fire broke out on board. The pilot then decided to divert to Halifax which was the nearest airport at the time.</p>
<p>Firefighters were put on alert at the airport when the plane touched the ground safely at around 10 p.m. There were 233 people aboard; all of them remained unhurt.</p>
