The Airbus A320, heading from Marrakesh, Morocco, to Gatwick Airport, United Kingdom, had to be diverted after a drunk male passenger tried to open an emergency door mid-air.

The plane landed safely. The man was escorted out of the plane by the French police.

The airline confirmed the incident and said, “easyJet’s cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time. Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously, do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour onboard and always push for prosecution.
The Boeing 787-800 was heading from Tel Aviv, Israel to Toronto, Canada, when heating system of a cargo bay malfunctioned. The captain decided to divert the plane as there was a French bulldog named Simba travelling in the bay. According to airline spokesperson Peter Fitzpatrick, “As soon as the crew became aware of the temperature issue, the captain grew rightfully concerned for the dog’s comfort and well-being… With the altitude it can become very uncomfortable, and possibly the situation could have been life-threatening if the flight had continued.”

The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

The plane was able to continue its journey with a 90-minute delay.

The post Air Canada Plane Diverts to Frankfurt to Save Dog first appeared on George Hatcher's Air Flight Disaster.

On July 24, 2014, a McDonnell Douglas MD-83 leased from SwiftAir and flown for Air Algérie disappeared fifty minutes into the flight between Ouagadougou Airport and its destination in Algiers, Algeria. Pilots requested a route change request due to weather.

The hundred and ten passengers and six Spanish crew members were aboard. Algiers is a transit point for Lebanese flying home to Beirut. Twenty Lebonese were aboard, including Fadi Rustom and Joseph Hajj from Aintoura, and Omar Ballan from Ghazir. About fifty French may be aboard also.

The most recent report is that the plane crashed in Niger, according to Elnahar TV.

Mali is unstable, but an airline spokesperson said unofficially “the fighters have shoulder-fired weapons which could not hit an aircraft at cruising altitude.”
