<p>It s believed that the pilots of the plane, flying from Manila, declared emergency due to a hydraulic problem in its landing gear.</p>
<p>According to Philippines Air Asia, “The plane had technical issue on its way to the ramp and had to be towed. Safety and engineering teams are currently checking the cause.”</p>

<p>The plane was on a flight from Adelaide to Mount Gambier when the pilot noticed a problem with nose landing gear. The 29-year-old pilot then diverted the plane to Essendon Airport where it made a nose landing.</p>
<p>MFB tweeted after the incident: “A bumpy landing for a pilot at #Essendon airport. The nose wheel collapsed on impact but luckily no fire or injuries!”</p>

<p>The plane was heading from Calgary to Grande Prairie, Alberta, when one of its tires blew off during take-off. Due to strong winds at Calgary International Airport, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing at Edmonton airport.</p>
<p>Authorities said that the right main landing gear of the aircraft collapsed as it touched down in Edmonton at around 8:36 p.m.</p>
<p>There were 71 passengers and 4 crew members aboard at the time. Jazz Aviation LP confirmed that 4 passengers were taken to hospital and that 3 of them were later released after treatment.</p>

<p>The incident happened when the flight 4Z-8732/SA-8732 was on its way from Pietermaritzburg Airport to Johannesburg, South Africa.</p>
<p>According to Albert Morudi, the acting executive manager- Accident and Incident Investigation Division of SA Civil Aviation Authority, the landing gear of the aircraft did not retract after takeoff. Therefore, the pilot decided to divert and make emergency landing.</p>
<p>The crew asked the passengers to sit in brace position due to possibility of gear collapse on landing, however, the plane landed safely. Upon landing, the passengers praised the performance of pilots and flight crew by clapping. One of the passengers, Bruce Gordon said, “When we realized everything was okay, and we had landed safely, everyone started clapping. <p>The plane overran the end of the runway, crashed through a perimeter fence, crossed Giffard Road, and slammed into a Benz van, killing 10.  Four aboard the flight survived the collision.</p>
<p>ATC may have advised pilots to divert to Abidjan because of the weather.</p>
<p>Police, military and fire as well as the coordinator of <em>National Disaster Management Organisation</em> were on the scene.</p>
<p>The plane was considered totaled, with wing damage, separated tail and collapsed gear.  The plane reportedly <a href="http://www.pprune.org/7223717-post15.html" target="_blank" data-wpel-link="external">was Pan Am&#8217;s last revenue flight</a> Dec 4, 1991.</p>
