On August 28, 2013, a British Airways Boeing 747-436 en route from Heathrow to Beijing was en route when it developed &#8216;overheated avionics&#8217; and had to divert to Irkutsk, Russia where it made a safe landing with emergency services on standby.</p>
<p>It was an emergency landing, but the Russian Ministry called the landing a crash-landing.</p>
<p>There were 289 passengers and eight crew aboard.(According to British Mail, 16 crew.)</p>
