]]> United ExpressCommutAir Flight 4776, operating as United Express, made an emergency landing at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, on June 5.

The Dash 8 turboprop commuter jet, en-route from Newark Liberty International Airport to Bradley, declared emergency on approach after a small fire broke out in the cockpit.

Authorities said the crew had put out the fire with a fire extinguisher before the plane landed safely. All 36 passengers and 3 crew members remained unharmed.

The airline said in a statement, “We are very thankful for the quick response of our flight crew to ensure the safety of our passengers — the aircraft has been removed from service and will undergo a thorough maintenance evaluation.”

The cause of fire is being investigated.
