]]> A small plane crashed into the woods near Worcester Regional Airport in Worcester, Massachusetts, on October 24.

The single-engine 1996 Mooney M20M plane was attempting to take-off from the airport when it veered right and crashed into trees just beyond the runway.

The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the crash. He was identified as Dr.Gary Weller, 66, of Putnam, Connecticut.

The accident is being investigated.
