]]> A small Piper PA46 aircraft crashed into the Spokane River, Washington on the afternoon of May 7.

It is believed that the pilot was trying to make an emergency landing at the Felts Field, due to engine problems, but could not make it to the runway.

Both people aboard the plane were killed in the crash. They were identified as Richard Runyon and Lyndon Amestoy.

The cause of crash is being investigated.
