]]> A small plane crashed in a heavily wooded area near Batesville Airport in Independence County, Arkansas, on the night of April 2.

Director of the Independence County Office of Emergency Management, Glen Willis, said it appears the Cessna 152 crashed when it was returning to Carlisle from Salem.

The pilot was killed in the accident. His body was shifted to Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy.

The cause of crash is being investigated.
