]]> On July 5, 2013 around 4 pm, a Heartland Transmission Project helicopter transporting equipment to a tower crashed near Fort Saskatchewan. When the helicopter grazed the 64 metre tower, the pilot lost control.

One report says a worker fell from the helicopter but this has not been confirmed.

Two men were aboard; they were both taken to University of Alberta hospital in serious condition. The lineman was airlifted.

Transportation Safety Board and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety will be investigating, as well as the Heartland Transmission.Project.
