]]> American EagleAmerican Airlines flight 1479 made a safe landing at Phoenix Harbor International Airport, Phoenix, Arizona, on September 16th.

The Airbus flying from Portland, Oregon, had one of its tyres off its rim due to which the pilot had to declare emergency.

The plane landed without further incident.

All people onboard remained unharmed.

]]> A private Atlas Air plane’s emergency escape slide detached mid-air and fell on the top of a house in Mesa, Arizona, Phoenix, on March 30th.

The Boeing 767, heading to Sky Harbor Airport, Phoenix, was mid-air when the crew was told that the emergency slide over the right wing had deployed.

The plane landed safely, whereas the house suffered minor damage.

The incident is under investigation.

]]> A small plane crashed into Setauket Harbor, Long Island Sound, New York, on February 20.

The Piper PA-28 was flying from Massachusetts when it lost engine power, prompting the pilots to make a crash-landing.

There were four people aboard at the time, including the student pilot Austricio Ramirez who was flying the plane when it began experiencing issues, and the instructor pilot Nelson Gomez who took over the control afterwards and landed the plane in Setauket Harbor.

Authorities said Ramirez, Gomez, and a third passenger Wady Perez were rescued by the officers. The fourth person, identified as 23-year-old Gerson Salmon-Negron, remains missing.

The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.

]]> A Bell 206 helicopter crashed and sunk near the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, on February 18.

The private helicopter went down while it was carrying five people, including the pilot and a family of four visiting from Canada.

All five occupants of the aircraft survived the crash. However, one of them – a 16-year-old boy- was trapped underwater and had to be extricated from his seat. He was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Authorities believe the helicopter belongs to tour operator Genesis Aviation.

The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the cause of crash.
