]]> A light plane crashed in a remote area near Blackstairs Commons on the Carlow-Wexford border in the Republic of Ireland, on May 24.

The Cessna 172 crashed when it was heading from Ballyboy airfield towards Wexford.

There were 2 people aboard the plane; both of them were killed in the crash. They were later identified as Bryan Keane, 69, and Paul Smith, 58. Authorities said both of them were seasoned pilots.

The Air Accident Investigation Unit is looking into the causes of crash.
