The Air Force Rescue Coordination Center authorities informed the Miami Coast Guard 7th District watchstanders about a Cessna which was last seen on radar descending near South Bimini Airport, Bahamas. The Coast Guard watchstanders then deployed an HC-130 Hercules plane which located the submerged aircraft and the pilot shortly before 4 p.m.

The pilot, identified as 43-year-old David Pedroza, of Boca Raton, Florida, was transported to Air Station Miami. Authorities said he was in stable condition.

It is believed that the Cessna was en-route from Norman Cay, Bahamas, to Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport when it crashed.

The post Small Plane Crashed Off Of Bimini; Pilot Rescued first appeared on George Hatcher's Air Flight Disaster.
