On August 7, the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (RME) started a lookout for a 4-seater amphibian plane L-42.

According to the initial reports, the plane crashed in Kirov Region’s Podosinovets District. RME confirmed that they received a message about the possible air crash at about 22:30 local time on August 7. At that time, there were 2 planes in the air, one of which disappeared from the radar.

The head of press service of the RME regional department, Aleksey Neustroyev said, “The plane was, tentatively, on a flight from Samara to Arkhangelsk.” He also said that the light multi-purpose twin-engine plane has not yet been found therefore, it is not possible to confirm anything at the moment.

RME officials and equipment from Vologda and Kirov are participating in the search and rescue operation, however, the fog in the area is making the task difficult.

The post Small Plane Crashes in Russia first appeared on George Hatcher's Air Flight Disaster.
