]]> 128th Air Refueling Wing.A 128th Air Refueling Wing plane had to make an emergency landing at Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, due to mechanical issues, on August 7.

The incident happened when the KC-135R Stratotanker was on a routine training missions with 4 people aboard. The hydraulics on the boom, used for fueling, stopped working at about 2 p.m. when it was flying over Illinois.

The plane safely landed after about 40 minutes. 128th Air Refueling Wing Col. James Locke said, “The air crew is trained and disciplined, and they know how to handle in-flight emergencies. We have simulators, and we have routine functions that make this very doable, very manageable.”
