<p>The Flight 8502 was on its way from North Platte to Sioux City, Iowa, when a warning signal indicated that equipment at the back of the aircraft was overheating.</p>
<p>The plane landed uneventfully and all 6 people aboard, including 2 pilots and 4 crew members, remained unharmed.</p>

<p>The plane overran the end of the runway, crashed through a perimeter fence, crossed Giffard Road, and slammed into a Benz van, killing 10.  Four aboard the flight survived the collision.</p>
<p>ATC may have advised pilots to divert to Abidjan because of the weather.</p>
<p>Police, military and fire as well as the coordinator of <em>National Disaster Management Organisation</em> were on the scene.</p>
<p>The plane was considered totaled, with wing damage, separated tail and collapsed gear.  The plane reportedly <a href="http://www.pprune.org/7223717-post15.html" target="_blank" data-wpel-link="external">was Pan Am&#8217;s last revenue flight</a> Dec 4, 1991.</p>
