Five Dead in Aeronaves Metro II Accident

An Aeronaves turboprop took off from Querétaro Airport, and impacted beside Highway 57 (Querétaro-Mexico City) then burst into flame.

The Aeronaves TSM plane was on a post-maintenance test flight, with four (or five) aboard. The accident occurred about 11 km southwest of the airport. Firefighters, federal police and a Mexican army team rushed to the scene. The accident had no survivors.

It is not known what went wrong on the Swearingen SA226-TC Metro II that caused the crash.

Flight registration number was XA-UKP.
