Norwegian Air International Flight Returns to Edinburgh After Lightning Strike

Norwegian Air International flight D8-1608 made an emergency landing in Edinburgh, Scotland, on February 28th.

The plane took off for Windsor Locks, Connecticut, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a lightning strike.

The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

United Express Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Cockpit Fire

United ExpressCommutAir Flight 4776, operating as United Express, made an emergency landing at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, on June 5.

The Dash 8 turboprop commuter jet, en-route from Newark Liberty International Airport to Bradley, declared emergency on approach after a small fire broke out in the cockpit.

Authorities said the crew had put out the fire with a fire extinguisher before the plane landed safely. All 36 passengers and 3 crew members remained unharmed.

The airline said in a statement, “We are very thankful for the quick response of our flight crew to ensure the safety of our passengers — the aircraft has been removed from service and will undergo a thorough maintenance evaluation.”

The cause of fire is being investigated.
