Dublin-Bound Aer Lingus Flight Diverts to Manchester

Aer Lingus flight EI 281 diverted to Manchester, England, on February 8th.

The plane heading from London City Airport, England, to Dublin Airport, Ireland, was diverted due to strong wind conditions in Dublin.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Former Canadian Minister Jean Lapierre and 6 Others Die in Plane Crash

A small plane crashed in the Magdalen Islands, Quebec, Canada, on March 29th.

The private plane, transporting Jean Lapierre, 59, a broadcaster and former Canadian transport minister, and his family members to his father’s funeral, went down while approaching the Iles-de-la-Madeleine Airport amid heavy winds and snow.

All seven people aboard, including the pilot, the co-pilot, Lapierre, and his family members, were killed in the crash.

The incident is being investigated.

Air France Jet Diverts to Belfast International Airport

Air FranceAir France flight AF1816 made an emergency landing at Belfast International Airport in Northern Ireland, on November 12.

The plane, en-route from Charles de Gaulle airport, France, to Dublin, Ireland, was diverted after the pilot reported low fuel levels. Authorities said the plane circled Dublin airport before diverting to Belfast but could not land due to high winds.

The plane landed safely. There were 93 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.
