Skywest Airlines flight OO-3623/ DL-3623 made an emergency landing at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, Kansas, on July 15th.

The Canadair CRJ-200 en route to Minnesota was climbing out when the crew declared an emergency after losing the hydraulic fluid in its landing gear.

The plane landed safely.

All 43 people aboard remained unhurt.

American Airlines flight AA-2057 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Wichita, Kansas, on February 3rd.

The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Los Angeles, California, was diverted after the crew reported an odor of burnt plastics on-board.

A small plane had to make an emergency landing on 21st Avenue, Galva, McPherson County, Kansas, on March 22.

The Hawker Beechcraft G36 flying from Wichita, Kansas, was mid-air above McPherson County when the pilot detected trouble with mechanical indicators, deciding to make an emergency landing.

The plane’s engine had failed and the landing gear was damaged.

Both the pilot and the passenger were unharmed.

A small plane crash landed in Tallgrass Golf Course, Greenleaf Court, Wichita, Kansas, on March 18.

The Mooney M20C, heading from Nashville to Jabara Airport, had some problem with its engine when the pilot decided to land in emergency.

The plane received major damage to its wings.

Both the pilot and one passenger survived but suffered from injuries of varying intensities.

American eagleAn American Eagle flight made an emergency landing at Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita, Kansas, on March 7th.

The Embraer jet, heading from Grand Island, Nebraska, to Dallas, Texas, had to be diverted after a smoke detector went off in the baggage compartment.

United Express Flight Diverts to Eisenhower National Airport

United ExpressUnited Express Flight 4912 had to make an emergency landing at Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita, Kansas, on February 25.

Airport authorities said the flight, operated by Republic Airlines, was heading from Denver to Kansas City when it had to declare emergency due to a landing gear issue.

The plane was then diverted to Eisenhower Airport where it landed uneventfully. None of the 67 passengers and 4 crew members was hurt.

The Bombardier Q-400 aircraft was taken for inspection while the passengers and crew members were taken to Kansas City via a bus.

United Airlines Flight Returns to Wichita for Emergency Landing

new-united-logoUnited Airlines flight 5240 had to return and make an emergency landing at Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, Kansas, at around 7:30 p.m. on November 26.

The flight, bound for Chicago O’Hare Airport, was forced to turn back after an indicator light turned off, showing a problem with landing gear.

The plane landed safely and no injuries were reported.

The aircraft was taken for examination.

Small Plane Crashes into Kansas Airport Building; 4 Dead, 5 Injured

FireA twin-engine Beechcraft crashed into a building at Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, Kansas, on October 30.

The aircraft reported trouble soon after departing from the airport. It then lost power and crashed into the flight safety center, while it was returning to the runway.

Atleast 4 people, including the pilot Mark Goldstein, were killed in the accident while 5 others were injured. One of the injured is believed to be in critical condition.

According to Wichita Fire Chief Ron Blackwell, the pilot was the only one travelling in the plane. Officials also said that the flight safety building had around 100 occupants at the time of accident.

The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.

American Eagle Flight Lands in Emergency with Cracked Windshield

American eagleAn American Eagle flight, operated by Express Jet, had to divert and make an emergency landing at Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, Kansas, just after 8:30 a.m. on September 22.

The Flight 2539 was on its way from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Dallas, Texas, with 49 passengers and 3 crew members aboard, when its windshield cracked midair.

The pilots then decided to divert to Wichita where it made an uneventful emergency landing. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

Investigators are looking into the cause of crack.

FedEx Plane Lands in Emergency at Wichita

FedExA FedEx cargo plane made an emergency landing at the Mid Continent Airport, Wichita, Kansas, shortly before 5 p.m. on August 15.

The pilots decided to go for emergency landing after the windshield of the aircraft cracked midair.

According to Officer Kourt Klassen, emergency crews were present at the runway when the plane safely landed. There were 2 people aboard the plane at the time; both of them remained unhurt.

According to the FedEx spokesperson, the plane is being evaluated by the maintenance crew. The cargo was transferred to another aircraft to avoid any delays in deliveries.
